Glowing and growing!
Pregnancy is a beautiful, personal experience to go through. Being pregnant with my two amazing children taught me a lot about my body and especially my skin. Pregnancy is filled with hormonal changes that effect all women differently and therefore the experience is so unique to the individual. So, a common concern that lot of soon to be mommies ask me is if they need to completely stop all treatments and skincare products with the idea that everything may be unsafe for their baby, but this isn’t true. There are many trustworthy treatments and skincare products that can be used safely during pregnancy.
Firstly, I want to explain why it is important to have treatments and use the right skincare. This is because many women will experience hormonal changes during their pregnancy as well as many skin conditions such as acne, dry skin, rosacea, and pigmentation. With these experiences it is important to find the products and treatments that work best for maintaining healthy, glowing skin.
Some pregnancy safe treatments that are both beneficial for the skin and popular amongst the expecting mothers include:
- Fire and Ice facial
- Foaming enzyme facial
- Intraceuticals Oxygen facial
- The Skin Solutions ‘Glow’ facial
- Dermafrac
- Dermaplaning
- The AquaGold facial
Cheek Augmentation using Dermal Fillers.
One of my favourite treatments to do that give my patients incredible results is Cheek Augmentation using dermal fillers. Dermal fillers are injections that give a more defined look by creating volume under the skin and allowing for wrinkles and lines to be smoothed out. Cheek augmentation is a dermal filler treatment that uses a hyaluronic acid-based filler to create defined cheekbones and enhance the natural curves of the cheeks. Cheek augmentation using dermal filler is a minimally invasive and reversable procedure that provides temporary yet significant enhancement to the cheek area. The injecting process creates plump, fuller and more defined looking cheeks. Cheek augmentation using dermal fillers targets hollow, sagging and poorly defined cheeks that can be due to aging, trauma, significant weight loss or genetics. Post procedure it can be expected that there will be redness, swelling and slight bruising around the injected area which will typically subside within seven to ten days. The results that my patients have experienced from this technique have been extremely rewarding.
